What's the difference
between my American Savings
Debit/Check card and a credit card?
Although your new Debit/Check card looks like a credit card, it's not.
Purchases are deducted directly from your primary checking account. You are
not billed on a monthly basis and there is no interest to pay. It also
functions as a American Savings ATM card providing you 24-hour access
to your checking and savings accounts.
Where can I use my Debit/Check
card?
You can use your new card anywhere MasterCard is accepted: retail
stores, restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, airlines and many more places in
the United States and all around the world.
The American Savings Debit/Check
card is also an enhanced ATM card; use it at thousands of other
ATMs displaying
the Cirrus, PLUS, or Cash Station logos.
How do I use the American
Savings Debit/Check card?
When you make your purchases, instead of filling out and signing a
check, you will sign a sales slip. The purchase amount will be withdrawn
directly from your American Savings
checking account. At an ATM, use your
American Savings Debit/Check
card just as you would your ATM card.
Why is my American Savings Debit/Check
card
better than writing a check?
There is no need to carry your checkbook and spend
time writing checks. You won't need credit cards, identification, or lots of
cash. Your American Savings Debit/Check
card is all you need! It's a
money saver, too! There are no monthly or annual fees, no finance charges,
no credit card bills and fewer checks to buy!
How do I keep track of my
purchase?
You will receive a receipt with each American Savings
Debit/Check card purchase or ATM transaction.
Just remember to record each
amount in your check register. All purchases and ATM transactions will also
be listed on your monthly checking account statement.
What happens when I need
to return merchandise?
It's the same as returning merchandise purchased with a credit card or
check. Be sure to save your receipt in case you need to return an item. You
must resolve issues directly with the merchant.
What accounts can I access?
For ATM use, you will be able to access the checking and savings
accounts.
